Hong Kong CB Church Association was organized in 1991. During these seven years, it has served in three major aspects: (1) to organize joint-churches Sunday services, sports and games days, retreat camp and church leaders seminars for our CB churches; (2) to prepare and to compile a detailed CB Church Handbook and (3) to unite our CB churches to promote and to support the missionary work, and also local ministry, i.e., church planting.
In 1994, we sent our first missionary, Mr. John Chan, to Kaohsiung in Taiwan. After a few more years, we have sent our second missionary, Mr. Joshua Sin and his family, to Macau.
In October 1996, Mr. Richard Cheng joined us as the full-time General Secretary. Under his leadership, our CB Church Handbook has been completed in September 1997. Together with this, upon Richard Cheng's appointment to the Association, we were able to establish new churches with the cooperation of the mission here. We hope that our CB Church Association will continue to serve our churches as well as promote and develop the evangelical work more effectively.
14 Churches, 7 Study Centers, 1 Youth Center, 1 Primary School.
CHURCH COMMUNITY
Our CB churches are mainly located in public housing estates. Most of the people they are ministering to are people of low to middle classes- students, housewives, factory workers, office clerks, teachers, nurses, social workers and young professionals.
Our CB churches are small churches. The number of people attending the Sunday services in each church ranges from 20 to 100. A total of about 800 people attend our CB services on Sunday.
These churches are very young churches. Only two of these were established in the 1960s and the 1970s. The majority of our CB churches were recently established: five during the 1980s and eight in the 1990s. Therefore, our CB church members are young in age as well as spiritual experience.
